Location. From the cobblestone streets and Spanish architecture of St. Augustine to the replica of Castillo De San Marcos, the Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center in Orlando, Fla., is just one half mile from Walt Disney World. The resort is within 10 miles of Universal Studios, Orange County Convention Center and shopping at Pointe Orland.
Hotel Features. The Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center encases an almost five acre atrium that contains smaller versions of Florida attractions like Ponce de Leon's Fountain of Youth and the Everglades. A wharf features a 60 foot sailboat. Dining options range from casual to haute cuisine including the Old Hickory Steakhouse, Villa de Flora and Ben and Jerry's Ice Creame Shoppe. A business center provides high speed Internet access for a fee and the adjoining convention center boasts 400,000 square feet of meeting space. An on site health club and spa include cardio equipment, saunas and personal trainers while providing 25 treatment rooms. Recreation includes Falcon's Fire Golf Course, an Art Deco South Beach pool with tinted cabanas, featuring high speed Internet access and poolside massages and a Marine Pool with an octopus water slide and sandy play area for children. La Petite Academy provides supervised kids activities. Scheduled shuttle service to Disney theme parks is available.
Guestrooms. Designed with themes inspired by Florida regions depicted in the hotel atrium, all 1,406 guestrooms feature high speed Internet access, video game consoles, for a fee, CD players, and complimentary daily newspapers. Baths are equipped with granite vanities and supply Gilchrist and Soames toiletries. Rooms feature a computer station with access to hotel services and laptop compatible safes. Refrigerators and complimentary bottled water are also offered.
Expert Tip. Enjoy an alligator feeding courtesy of animal care specialists every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday in the resort's atrium. This property is smoke free.
